Sepur Zarco Serie

Paz Errázuriz created these portraits of Mayan women after discovering their tragic stories during the Guatemalan armed conflict (1960-1996). Indigenous women from a small community near the Sepur Zarco outpost were raped and enslaved by the military. Between 2011 and 2016, fifteen survivors fought for justice in the Guatemalan Supreme Court.
